CHALLENGING STEREOTYPES AND BREAKING DOWN SOCIAL BARRIERS

About Unchained

"Human trafficking is the dark underbelly of globalisation" - Baroness Helena Kennedy QC
Scotland will be a hostile environment for traffickers.

Unchained is a human rights based, anti-human trafficking/modern slavery organisation focusing on raising awareness of the prevalence and complexities of human trafficking in Glasgow and the UK. All of Unchained's work and objectives are achieved in accordance with the UK's Modern Slavery Act and current EU law: The Council of Europe Convention on Action Against Trafficking in Human Beings and Directive 2011/36/EU on Preventing and Combating Trafficking in Human Beings and Protecting its Victims. Attention is also directed to current progress and updates of Scotland's Human Trafficking and Exploitation Bill.

  • Unchained delivers interactive workshops and presentations to local businesses and community groups. This is achieved through effective research and sector specific training. Unchained also acts as a facilitator for effective communication between various anti trafficking organisations including front line practitioners and first responders and is a current member of the Scottish Parliament's cross party group on Human Trafficking.

  • Unchained carries out regular public events such as Anti-Slavery Marches, Live Music Nights, Fun Runs, Fashion Shows and other public events that will target local communities and bring attention to the issue of human trafficking and modern slavery
